An Arizona county sheriff said Saturday that he’s aggravated with Gov. Doug Ducey sending large transport containers to the border in an effort to assemble a makeshift border wall.
With the containers reaching inside 6 miles of Santa Cruz County, Sheriff David Hathaway informed FOX 10 Phoenix he’ll arrest anyone who tries to place them inside the county, which he referred to as “illegal dumping.”
“the world the place they’re placing the containers is completely on federal land, on nationwide forest land,” the sheriff informed the station. “it is not state land, it is not private land, and the federal authorities has said this [is] felony exercise. So simply the method all by means of which if I noticed anyone doing an assault or a homicide or a car theft on public land inside my county, i might cost that particular person with a felony offense.”

Ducey filed a lawsuit in opposition to the federal authorities in October when he was informed to cease double stacking the greater than a hundred containers inside the border wall gaps on federal and tribal lands shut to Yuma.
He has been ordering containers to the border since final summer season.
“Our border communities are overwhelmed by felony exercise in consequence of Biden administration’s failure to safe the southern border,” Ducey said in a press launch on the time. “Arizona is taking movement to protest on behalf of our residents. With this lawsuit, we’re pushing again in opposition to efforts by federal bureaucrats to reverse the progress we’ve made. the safety and safety of Arizona and its residents should not be ignored. Arizona goes to do the job that Joe Biden refuses to do — safe the border in any method we’re in a place to. We’re not backing down.”
